PSCFO Council Meeting

PROGRAM

In addition to the business of the Association at the Council Meeting, programs will include:

• PA Department of Agriculture will brief PSCFO on implementation of the many parts of the recently enacted PA Farm Bill.  Doubtless, industrial hemp and expansion of Organic crop production will be discussed as well.
• There should also be an update on the work of the PA Dairy Future Commission after its inaugural meeting.
• Discussion on where Broadband expansion stands at the start of the fall session of the PA General Assembly includes Steve Samara with the PA Telephone Association (non-urban companies) and remarks by Sascha Meinrath, the Palmer Chair at Penn State’s Communications Department. His remarks are especially important since he conducted the Center for Rural PA study which documented just how little wide band access to Broadband there is in Pennsylvania.  His study is a direct challenge to the validity of FCC figures which claim that every county has full access.
